Blue Devils pick up another big win

WYNOT — The Wynot Blue Devils scored on their first four possessions Friday to post a 33-0 first quarter lead against the Winside Wildcats.

Wynot then improved their season record to 6-1 with a 73-6 pasting of the visitors.

Lane Heimes led the Blue Devils on offense with three rushing scores. Braxton Oligmueller ran for a pair of touchdowns and Kotner Koch had 2 touchdown catches and PAT in the game.

Winside’s Jahiem Hamkid had the Wildcats lone score.

The game was total domination by the Blue Devils who amassed almost 400 yards of total offense while holding the Wildcats to under a 100 yard.

Winside went three and out on their opening possession and Braylon Hans return gave the Blue Devil the ball deep in Wildcats territory. Lane Heimes raced in for a 10 yard touchdown. Killian Steinhaus caught the PAT pass as the Blue Devils lead 8-0.

A Emersyn Guenther sack of the Wildcats quarter back along with a short punt put the Blue Devils back in the red zone., an 16 yard completion to Nixon Heimes set up a 3 yard touchdown blast up the middle by Jed Nelson. The PAT was stopped but Wynot lead stood at 14-0 at the mid point of the first period.

Winside misfortunes continued as they fumble on their next offense set and Lane Heimes recovered it giving the Blue Devils another short field. Lane Heimes would pick up his second touchdown on a 23 yard option pitch around the right side. Devin Brummer kicked the PAT to increase Wynot lead to 21-0.

Wynot defensive front of Parker Schmidt and Emersyn Guenther continued to control the line of scrimmage as they forced another 3 and out. Wynot defense would strike quickly when Brummer hit Kotner on a 34 yard touchdown up the right seam of another Blue Devil score. The PAT was stopped but Wynot was rolling 27-0.

With a minute and a half left in the first quarter Wynot added another score to their totals. Devin Brummer would connect oncc again with his favoriter target Kotner Koch on a 26 yard bullet as the opening quarter came to an end with the Blue Devil in control leading 33-0.

Wynot defense continued to make it tough sledding for the Winside offense in the second quarter. After another three and out and a good punt return by Braylon Hans the Blue Devils again had a short field to work with. A first down catch by Braylon Hans and a 11 yard run by Lane Heimes set up a 7 yard scramble by Braxton Oligmueller for another Blue Devil touchdown as the score went to 39-0. Winside continued to struggle offensively. Wynot reserves would put up one more touchdown on the board before halftime. First down catches by Kreighton Koch and Jed Nelson moved the ball past mid field. Two plays later Braxton Oligmueller hooked up with Kreyton Koch for the 6 yard touchdown . Wynot held a 45-0 halftime advantage.

The second half score implemented the running clock. Wynot would continue to add to their totals on their first possession of the second half.

Wynot ‘s offense continued to find success. First down catches by Braylon Hans and Kotner Koch got the drive started. Then Lane Heimes broke off a 20 yard touchdown for his third score of the game. Wynot lead stood at 51-0.

Winside would break into the scoring column on their next possession. Jahiem Hamik caught a short pass over the right side and rumbled 57 yards to pay dirt. The PAT was stopped as Winside was on the scoreboard but trailing 51-6.

Wynot would answer quickly. A 45 yard bomb from Braxton Oligmueller to Kason Hans set up a 9 yard blast over the right side by Wyatt Nelson. Oligmueller and Kason Hans would also connect for the PAT pass making the score 65-6.

Wynot’s reserves put up one final score for the night when Braxton Oligmueller weaved 29 yards for his second rushing touchdown of the night. Oligmueller hit Wyatt Nelson for the PAT making the final tally 73-6 in favor of the visiting Blue Devils.

Wynot travels to Bancroft Rosalie next Friday for their final regular season game.
