LAUREL - The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bear volleyball team split a couple of home dates over the past week taking a best-of-five-sets conference match with Summerland 25-19, 25-15 and 25-11 on Oct. 4 after dropping a best-of-five to Pierce 25-20, 26-24, 25-22 and 25-20.
The Lady Bears had beaten the Lady Bluejays back on Sept. 13, 2-1.
In the match with the Lady Bobcats, the Lady Bears responded from just their third loss of the season with the sweep.
Rena Rasmussen set the standard with another double-double, 22 kills and 20 digs, Carlie Kvols tipped up 38 set assists and Tyler Recob added eight winners.
Kaida Eriksen posted six kills, Kvols, Hattie McCorkindale and Boston Brown smacked three winners each.
McCorkindale tacked on 13 digs, Kvols and Brown had seven each.
In the match with the Lady Bluejays, LCC won the second set after Pierce took the first, but the Lady Bears fell in sets three and four.
Rasmussen had yet another double-double with 14 winners and 17 digs.
Eriksen had nine winners, Recob again added eight hammers and Kvols had five despite posting 30 assists in the match.
The Lady Bears were slated to return to the court at Hartington-Newcastle on Oct. 7 before hosting a triangular with Howells-Dodge and Humphrey/ Linsday on Oct. 9.
