July 19: Man calls in to report he found a red jeep crashed into an embankment off of a minimum maintenance road. The airbags have been deployed and it looks like someone crashed their head into the windshield. No one is around now, though, he said.

Yankton police department calls to report there has been vandalism on the walking bridge over the river. A Yankton crew is making repairs on the South Dakota side, but someone will need to make repairs on the Nebraska side.
Woman calls to report she was driving west on Highway 59, swerved and hit a ‘No Passing’ sign and damaged her car. A deptuy was paged out to respond.
Woman calls to say a Hartington man she helps take care of fell the day before and has a very swollen nose and can now hardly breathe. Hartington ambulance is paged out.

Man calls to report a broken down truck at the Highway 12 and 81 junction that is blocking the westbound lane and “could cause an accident.”
July 21: Randolph ambulance is paged out for a woman who is having difficulty breathing.
Caretaker calls asking for someone to help her get a woman back into her wheelchair.
Man calls to report a scam phone call which said he was to pay for a citation “or they would come and get me.” He was advised to block the phone call and was given the number for the FCC to report the scam.
Hartington Fire Department issues burn permits for Paul Goeden and Mike Steffen.
Woman calls to share her concerns. She is planning to get her belongings from her ex-boyfriend’s place but is worried he might get violent. “I am afraid of him. He has thrown me around before.” Dispatcher advises local police department to advise police chief of the situation.
Man called to say a vehicle that was driving very fast just sped through a stop sign in Hartington. “If someone were coming he would have caused an accident or killed someone.”
