MCLEAN — Mr. and Mrs. Carl Neitzke of McLean went to Omaha Sept. 20 and Mrs. Neitzke attended an official meeting of the Nebraska Republican State committee. Senators Carl Curtis and Roman Hruska spoke at the meeting and Vice President Richard Nixon spoke to the committee. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Neitzke attended the reception at the Fontenelle hotel in honor of the vice president.

RANDOLPH — The Randolph High girls softball team stayed in the win column as they scored their third straight victory 40-15 over Winside Sept. 21. Kruger, Patent and Dowling was Randolph’s battery. Kruger, Breding and McDonald each had one home run and Bauer two.

RANDOLPH — Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Buchanan attended the district VIII meeting of the Order of the Eastern Star at Lincoln Monday. The evening banquet was at the University Club and the evening session at the Scottish Rite Temple. Mrs. Buchanan is the Grand Representative of the state of Virginia, in Nebraska.

RANDOLPH — Virgil Kaminski of Ashton, one of 34 officer candidates who will be assigned to duty with the patrol on Oct. 3, has been assigned to headquarter at Randolph. This will bring to two that number of patrolmen headquartering in Randolph as Patrolman LeRoy Hodtwalker has been stationed and in residence here since Sept. 1.

RANDOLPH — Randolph leads Cedar County’s Class C boys’ basketball enrollment this fall with 56 boys, positioning the Cardinals as one of the larger Class C programs in the area.
In Class E, Belden will field a 20-boy roster, while Magnet lists 6—small but determined squads set to battle among Nebraska’s smallest classifications.
Countywide enrollment figures show several familiar rivals grouped in Class C alongside Randolph: Laurel has 54 boys, Coleridge 50, and Randolph St. Frances 46.
Hartington’s schools appear in different spots on the chart—Hartington Public stays in Class C with 49 boys, while Holy Trinity, which moved up when the NSAA expanded to six classes last year, remains the county’s lone Class B program with 82 boys.
Unless the NSAA delegate assembly makes changes to the basketball setup in December, those classifications are expected to stand for the upcoming season.

RANDOLPH — School buildings, land and equipment of former School Districts 89 Cedar County and 22 Wayne County, brought in a total of $869.50 at auction Tuesday. Gordon Dennis purchased the Dist. 89 building for $275 and John Burmeister purchased the building and land of Dist. 22 for $295, while the complete sale totaled $455. Both districts have joined the Randolph district.

RANDOLPH — Dennis Sellon, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sellon, is listed on the 1965 player roster for the Dana College Vikings of Blair. Dennis was a three-year letterman at Randolph High School. He is expected to see limited action during his first year at Dana, as a running back.
