Bruning leads LCC golfers at Wayne

WAYNE - Wayne High School hosted its annual Metteer Invitational on Sept. 25 at the Wayne Country Club.

West Holt won the team title after shooting a 367 over 18 holes, Scotus Central Catholic was second with a 378 with Boone Central coming in third with a 403.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge wound up seventh carding a 438.

West Holt’s Daleni Knust was the medalist firing a 76, nine strokes better than Rylee Altwine of Pierce.

Hallie Heithold of Wayne was third with an 88.

Harper Bruning posted the low round for the Lady Bears, bringing home a 13th-place medal with a 99.

Danica Gould was 27th with a 105, Kennedy Hall was 41st with a 116, Alyza Leonard was 44th with a 118 and Holly Patefield used a 131 to finish 51st.

Stella Kock played as a JV player and finished 49th with a 126 for the Lady Bears.

LCC was back in action at the Cedar Catholic Invite Sept. 29 with the district meet set for Oct. 7 in Wayne.
