July 15: Sheriff’s office receives reports about severe thunderstorms in eastern Knox County headed into Cedar County.
Nursing home calls for an ambulance for a resident with elevated blood pressure and possible signs of a stroke.
Medical alert call came in for elderly Hartington woman.
Hartington ambulance is paged out.
July 16: Domestic abuse call comes in.
Man tells dispatcher his daughter just assaulted his wife with a kitchen chair and is throwing silverware at him.
Caller reports a pick up truck driving north on Highway 81 is driving all over the road.
A representative from Court TV calls trying to get mugshot photos of Jason and Carrie Jones.
Caller advised a black bull with horns and a couple of cows are out along Highway 81.
Man calls in stating he is in a bar in Yankton. A woman who has a protection order against him just walked into the bar, and he is wondering if that means he has to leave.
He was told since it is a public place, as long as he keeps his distance and has no contact with her, he should be fine.
July 17: Randolph ambulance paged out for elderly woman with low blood pressure and possible pneumonia.
Coleridge ambulance paged out for elderly female who fell. She is now vomiting and nauseous.
Hartington Fire Department issues burn permit for Roger Andresen.
Randolph ambulance called to transport an elderly woman who fell and is unresponsive.
Man calls in, needs assistance getting off the floor and back into his chair.
July 18: Laurel medical alert alarm is activated. Subscriber says she is fine and did not activate the alarm.
Burn permit issued for Cedar-Knox Public Power District.
Person’s phone accidentally dials 911 several times.
Man called to say he had a coughing spell the day before and blacked out while driving and hit a mailbox. He then picked up the mailbox and put it on their front porch along with his contact information.
He was concerned because no one has called him back, yet. Dispatcher said they will pass the information on to one of their officers.
Dispatcher pages all units to advise them Cedar County is in a severe thunderstorm warning until 3 am.
Caller asks if a drone can legally be flown over his property. He is informed there is no law against it.
July 19: Hartington airport called to report that someone has come to the airport yelling and screaming and would like to have a deputy come out to help calm things down.
Hartington woman calls to report someone is on her property and is trying to get into their house. Dispatcher reports a deputy is headed there.
Woman calls back to report the man stole some items from their garage and their vehicles. He has now left, but she saw which direction he was headed.
Dispatcher receives a report of vandalism at Highway 84 Car Wash and Pearson Motor Company. A Silver pickup truck was seen in the area.
Laurel convenience store calls to report a man in a silver pick up truck “walked in here and took a bunch of snacks and walked out.
I asked him if he was going to pay for it and he just kept walking. He took about $50 worth of jerky, along with a 12 pack of beer and some Chex Mix.”
Law enforcement officers see a silver truck heading west out of Laurel and pursue him. They continue following him all the way to the Highway 81-20 intersection where he turns south.
Officers put spike on the road to damage his tires, which works and he pulls over and is arrested.
Man calls in to report he found a red jeep crashed into an embankment off of a minimum maintenance road. The airbags have been deployed and it looks like someone crashed their head into the windshield. No one is around now, though, he said.
