July 6: Hartington woman called to report she fell, injuring her arm and shoulder. She can't get up and needs medical attention. An ambulance was dispatched.
Woman called from Laurel to say a pick up truck is parked sideways on the road by Dollar General. Officer investigates. The vehicle had been parked at Dollar General but slipped out of gear and rolled into the street. The situation has been resolved.
Several more calls come in about the white pickup truck in the ditch south of Hartington.
Coleridge man called to report an animal in his yard — quite possibly a badger.
Two-vehicle accident reported at the Highway 15 and Highway 116 junction.
Caller reported hearing an alarm going off at the Hartington Hotel.
Dispatch receives a 911 call. Man apologizes, saying “I must have butt dialed. I am sorry.”
Coleridge ambulance paged out for elderly woman with an irregular heart beat.
July 7: Woman from a medical clinic called for an officer to stop by to help deal with an irate woman.
Ambulance dispatched for Hartington man with severe abdominal pain.
Wynot ambulance is called for a girl that crashed her four-wheeler and is injured.
Caller reported a semi truck hauling a combine is “hung up on a light pole,” at the Highway 12, and St. Helena spur.
Burn permit issued to Bob Steffen.
Belden, Laurel, Coleridge and Randolph fire whistles are still going off after the weekly siren test.
Severe thunderstorm warning reported for Cedar County.
Randolph nursing home calls to ask for assistance for removing someone that is sitting outside their door with a dog. “The dog is on a leash, but every time someone tries to come in or leave, the dog lunges at them.”
Caller reports their vehicle is stuck on a minimum maintenance road.
July 8: Sacred Heart Hospital called to inform the Sheriffs Department that they have an accident victim. The man put his vehicle in the ditch near the Crofton golf course. There were other passengers in the vehicle, caller would like law enforcement to check to see if there are any other victims with injuries.
Laurel man called to say his tires had been slashed.
Burn permit issued for Hansen Hog Haven.
Woman called to report that her vehicle was hit by flying metal that came from a truck pulling a trailer full of junk.
Deputy radios in that he is stopping someone driving a golf cart at the Highway 84-57 intersection. He then advised them to get the cart off the road.
July 9; Coleridge ambulance called out for elderly woman with possible broken hip.
Coleridge woman calls with concerns about the welfare of her neighbors’ pets.
911 call comes in, but call is abandoned. Dispatcher called back was told everything was fine. The call was a mistake.
July 10: Burglar alarm is going off at Dollar General in Laurel. Officer investigates, but all is fine.
Laurel ambulance paged out for woman who fell and was injured and is unable to get up.
Alarm is going off at Shop EZ. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Randolph ambulance paged out for a man with low blood sugar who needs to see a doctor.
Woman calls concerned about animals being mistreated at an Obert residence.
Caller reports a cow is out on the road north of the fairgrounds.
July 11: Ambulance called for elderly Laurel woman who was injured when she fell.
Two burn permits issued by the Hartington Fire Department.
Burn permit issued by the Randolph Fire Department.
Laurel Fire Department issues a burn permit for Brian Schantz.
A 911 call comes in. Caller apologizes, saying it was a pocket dial.
July 12: Woman calls saying the father of her child called making death threats. An officer is called out to speak with her.
Randolph ambulance paged out for elderly woman with medical issue.
Two callers report a lost dog - white German Shepard - at the Highway 12 and Highway 84 intersection.
Caller advised of a motorcycle accident near Dixon. Laurel ambulance is paged out.
Hartington Fire Department issues burn permit to Ross Pinkelman.
Caller reports theyjust hit a deer near the Crofton golf course.
July 13: Caller says he is in a car and is trying to get out of the car, but driver will not let him get out. 'She says she’ll go into a high speed pursuit if you show up.” Call drops and dispatcher tries several times to make contact, but is not able to make contact.
Caller reports they have been getting ‘’terroristic threats” from a Cedar County resident. They are threatening to ‘pull his tongue out and shove it down his throat.’
Omaha suicide hot line called to report they got a call from a Randolph woman threatening suicidal, but the call got disconnected. They are trying to track her down to talk to her. Dispatcher contacted Randolph Police Department.
July 14: Hartington Fire Department calls to say they have issued a burn permit to Rollie Burbach.
Laurel ambulance paged out for a woman experiencing chest pains.
Caller reports they are on Highway 81 and a vehicle in front of them is going 4045 miles per hour, 'She has almost been rear-ended. She is holding her head and looking out the driver’s side window. It looks like she is having a panic attack.”
Semi truck driver called in saying he needed medical attention. He was stung by a bee and is allergic to bee stings.
Man called to report he thinks someone stole his trailer. He later called back to say everything is fine - someone borrowed it.
Hartington Fire Department called to report they will have three units out of service. They will be at the Cedar County Fairgrounds to help clean off the grandstand bleachers.
Hartington ambulance paged out for man with back pain.
Man camping at Meridian Campgrounds reports a family of raccoons attacked his dog and now they are under his porch and won’t leave.
Man called to report a non-emergency. He slid out of his chair and needs help getting up.
911 call comes in abandoned. Dispatcher calls back, but does not reach anyone so a voicemail is left.
Caller sees a man standing on the Meridian Bridge for a long time staring at the water and is concerned about a possible suicide attempt.
