COLUMBUS - The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcat and Lady Wildcat cross country teams traveled to Columbus Sept. 18 for the Scotus Central Catholic Invitational at Lutjelusche Course.
The hosts won the girls division of the race with 18 points, Boone Central was second with 53.
Scotus Central Catholic took three of the top four places individually led by medalist, Avery Heinrich who covered the 5,000-meter course in 20-minutes, 02-seconds, 25 seconds ahead of teammate, Emilyn Kavan. Autumn Gasper of Boone Central was third in 21:17 and Hannah Heinrich of Scotus was fourth in 21:25.
Isabel Rolfes was the first Hartington-Newcastle runner to cross the mat finishing 33rd with a time of 24:11, Breah Steffen was 63rd in 26:25.
Issac Santiago finished in the medals for the Wildcats, finishing 18th with a time of 19:38.
Aidan Anderson was 46th, Donnie Schulte was 59th with Jeffrey Heine one spot back in 60th. Kayden Gustman finished 103rd.
Both teams will be running in the Crofton Invitational on Sept. 25 and head south the University of Nebraska-Kearney Invitational on Sept. 29 at the Kearney Country Club.
