WYNOT — Wynot turned Homecoming into a romp, rolling past Randolph 67-6 behind 124 rushing yards from Lane Heimes and three touchdowns from Devin Brummer.
The Blue Devils (3-1) struck early and never slowed. After Randolph received the opening kickoff, a third-down sack by Carter Hans forced a punt. Braylon Hans returned the kick to the Cardinals’ 25-yard line, and two plays later Lane Heimes cut in from 11 yards out. Brummer ran in the two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead.
A fumble on Randolph’s next drive was recovered by Jed Nelson at the 39. Chainsmoving runs by Lane and Nixen Heimes pushed the ball into the red zone, and Nelson bulled in from the one. Brummer’s PAT kick made it 15-0.
Wynot kept the pressure on after a short Cardinals punt. Brummer found Kotner Koch in the seam for an 11-yard touchdown, and his kick stretched the margin to 22-0 at the end of the first quarter.
The avalanche continued in the second. At 11:00, Lane Heimes burst up the middle for a 48-yard score, then powered in the conversion for a 30-0 cushion.
Brummer later hit Braylon Hans on a crossing route for a 17-yard touchdown, and the kick made it 37-0.
Reserves joined the party late in the half. Braxton Oligmueller ripped a 26 yard reverse, and Wyatt Nelson added a 12-yard run to set up Oligmueller’s fiveyard scoring pass to Kreyton Koch. Oligmueller’s conversion pass to Kason Hans sent Wynot to halftime up 45-0.
With a running clock in the second half, Wynot needed just one play after a Cardinals fumble at the 26. Brummer hit Killian Steinhaus for a seven-yard touchdown; Oligmueller added the conversion for a 53-0 lead. At 2:35 of the third, Wyatt Nelson bounced a sweep right and raced 34 yards to the end zone. Oligmueller connected with Nelson for the conversion to make it 61-0 after three.
Randolph finally broke through at 10:00 of the fourth when Milo Rayford burst 34 yards up the middle for the Cardinals’ lone touchdown. Wynot answered with one last short-field march after a failed onside kick, capped by a 1-yard plunge from Kason Hans for the final 67-6 tally. Randolph drove to the 1 in the closing seconds, but time expired.
Wynot travels to Lyons-Decatur next Friday.
