Randolph runners compete at LCC

LAUREL - The Randolph cross country Cardinal and Lady Cardinal cross country teams competed in the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invitational Sept. 11 at the Cedar View Country Club in Laurel.

The Lady Bears won the girls’ team title while Homer took the boys’ championship.

LCC finished 10 points better than Ponca in the girls’ race while Homer ran away from LCC 23-56 to take the boys’ title.

Ponca’s Ava Brennan was the girls’ champ in a time of 20-minutes, 43.90-seconds with Lilly Harris of Homer coming in second and Lady Bear, Kate Tasler third in 22:03.40.

Ponca’s Gannon Pfister was the boys’ medalist, using an 18:12.42 for first, Micah Cuevas of Newman Grove/St. Edward was second.

Randolph’s Kamdin Worlein was 35th with a time of 23:25.80 while Brayden Worlein finished 58th in 28:57.20.

The Randolph trio of runners were set to be back in action, Sept. 15 at Neligh-Oakdale before heading for Pender Sept. 18.
