Lady Bears fourth at Pierce Invite

PIERCE — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bear golf team placed fourth in the Pierce Invitational on Sept. 13.

Scotus Central Catholic out of Columbus won the tournament with a team score of 382, Pierce was second with a 395, Boone Central was third with a 402 followed by the Lady Bears who posted a 406.

Rylee Altwine of Pierce was the medalist after carding a 79, 13 strokes better than Kiya Taylor of Scotus who shot a 92.

Harper Bruning shot the low round of the day for LCC, firing a 96 which put her in fifth place.

Alyza Leonard and Mavis Jonas each posted a 103 for a tie for 15th, but Leonard won a scorecard playoff to take home the 15th-place medal.

Danica Gould shot a 104 and Holly Patefield carded a 105 to finish off the Lady Bear scoring.

LCC was set to host a triangular Sept. 16 along with Pender and Tri-County Northeast and will travel to Wayne Sept. 25 for an invitational.
