HARTINGTON — The Hartington Chamber of Commerce wants to make sure local students know there are job opportunities here for them once they graduate high school or post-secondary school.
For the second year in a row, the Hartington Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Career Fair for Cedar Catholic and Hartington-Newcastle High School students.
This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Cedar Catholic High School.
Chamber President Ray Sukovaty said last year’s inaugural event went over very well. He is hoping for even more participation this year.
This year’s event will be for sophomores, juniors and seniors.
“This will give businesses even more exposure,” Sukovaty said.
The first session will be at 8:15 a.m., which includes all juniors and Cedar Catholic seniors.
The second session will be at 9:45 a.m., and includes all sophomores and the Hartington-Newcastle seniors.
Sukovaty urged local businesses to take advantage of this opportunity.
“This is a great way to find potential employees for the future, or even for the school year based on your needs,” he said.
The Chamber will have a punch card that the students will be carrying to meet with businesses, and that will get them registered for prizes.
