1950: Korth enlists in Army Air

Sept. 14, 1950

RANDOLPH —Ted Korth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Korth, enlisted in the Army Air Corps and left September 5 from Norfolk for training camp. Since graduating from St. Francis high School, he is been engaged in farming.

RANDOLPH —Jess Dennis enlisted in the U.S. Navy for a four year period and is now at Great Lakes Naval training station. Son of Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Dennis and a graduate of Randolph High School, he has been employed at Cleveland Electric shop.

RANDOLPH —The Randolph High School Cards will open their football season on Friday night with Battle Creek. Coach Bill Norvell’s starting lineup includes Ed Kruger Gene Scott, Gail Landberg, Jm Wurdinger, Jim Schenck, Bob Bernet, Duane Lewis and Blair Joselyn. The Cards will appear in all new uniforms the first in a number of years.

Sept. 15, 1955

RANDOLPH — Melvin Kaiser, formally of Randolph and son of Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Kaiser, has been appointed to the district manager ship of the Monsanto chemical company in Los Angeles. The Kaiser’s reside in Van Nuys. The new position comes as a promotion to Mr. Kaiser.

Sept. 15, 1955

RANDOLPH — Lt. Col. Thad Black, formally of Randolph and brother of Mrs. J.O. Black has been named transportation officer of the New York port of embarkation.
