NIOBRARA - Niobrara/Verdigre hosted its cross country meet on Sept. 4 and Lady Cardinal harrier, Emily Gilliland brought home some hardware from the meet.
Gilliland covered the course at Niobrara State Park in 26-minutes and 26-seconds to finish in seventh place.
Bloomfield/Wausa won the girls’ division of the meet with just 12 points, Creighton was second with 15 and Plainview was third with 18.
Destiny Rich was the girls winner with a time of 23:27, teammate Hallie Kumm was next with a time of 24:23 and Luci Koinzan of Neligh-Oakdale was third in 25:10.
On the boys side, Ty Freeman of Bloomfield/Wausa was first in 18:18, Luke Woockman, also from Bloomfield/ Wausa was just one second behind for second.
Kamdin Worlein from Randolph was 23rd with a time of 23:40 and Brayden Worlein was 29th for the Cards in 28:18.
Gilliland and the Worleins will be running in the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invitational on Sept. 11 at Cedar View Country Club.
