HNS announces plans for Homecoming week

HARTINGTON — Hartington-Newcastle will celebrate Homecoming Sept. 15- 20.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Dressing Up for Homecoming.’

Special dress up days will be held each day.

They are: Monday: Lettuce sleep in (pajama day) Tuesday: Thousand Island (Hawaiian beach attire) Wednesday: Balsamic Vinaigrette (preppy/frat) Thursday: Ranch (western/ country) Friday: House (purple & white) A full day of events is slated for Friday beginning with a pep rally at 9:45 a.m. in the gym.

A joint Homecoming parade for both HNS and Cedar Catholic will leave from the schools for downtown at 11:30 a.m.

The 2025 Homecoming king and queen will then be crowned during ceremonies beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the gym.

The Wildcat football team will take on Niobrara-Verdigre in the Homecoming game beginning at 3 p.m. at the Hartington Community Complex.

The Homecoming dance will be held at the school on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Those students up for Homecoming royalty this year are:

Seniors

Kora Kneifl, Kassydi Anderson, Hazel Hochstein, Trynity Zach, Isaac Santiago, Carter Kelly, Brayden Lammers and Dane Gotch.

Juniors

Adeline Pinkelman, Emily Climer, Austin Sudbeck and Gabe Reyes.

Sophomores

Vayda Lippert, Cody Cavanaugh, Katelyn Uldrich, and Alyk Zach.

Freshmen

Nora Lange, Scout Heimes, Nathan Heimes, and Ella Kelly.
