CHAMBERS - The Randolph Cardinal football team moved the ball a little but never found the end zone in a 36-0 loss to Chambers/Wheeler Central to open the 2025 season Aug. 29.
The Renegades racked up 250 yards and scored 36 points by the end of the third quarter on the way to the shutout win.
Milo Rayford was the main weapon for the Cardinal offense, racking up 75 yards in his 15 carries of the football.
Ryan Engel added 35 yards on 13 carries and Tate Brodersen tacked 25 yards onto Randolph’s rushing totals on just nine touches.
Defensively, Eli Bermel had 13 total tackles including five solo stops; Cole Jensen and Jaylen Junck each had seven and Tate Brodersen had six tackles.
Bentley Reimers had a sack. Randolph is set to take on the top-rated Class D2 team in the state — the 1-0 Humphrey Archangels Catholic Defenders at home Sept. 5 in Randolph. The Defenders are coming off of a 54-0 shutout of Winside in their opening game of the season.
