HARTINGTON - The Randolph cross country teams took a couple of runners up to Hartington on Aug. 29 for the Hartington-Newcastle Invitational at the Hartington Golf Club.
Homer won both the girls’ and boys’ meets with Randolph having just one runner in each race. Kamdin Worlein was unable to run due to illness.
Gannon Pfister of Ponca was the champion of the boys’ race, covering the 5,000 meters in 18-minutes, 39.38 seconds with Homer’s Aayden Harris second in 18:50.48.
Cardinal Brayden Worlein was 53rd after finishing with a time of 27:50.49.
Ava Brennan of Ponca was the girls’ winner.
Lady Cardinal Emily Gilliland came in 43rd with a time of 28:30.85.
Randolph will be in action Sept. 4 at Niobrara State Park and will head to Cedar View Country Club Sept. 11.
