WAYNE - The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bear golf team has hit the ground running on the young season with another top finish in a tournament.
The Lady Bears placed second in the Wayne Invitational on Aug. 29 just five shots behind Battle Creek, which won the title with a team round of 404 with LCC sitting in the second spot at 409.
Pierce was third with a 421 and Archbishop Bergan fourth with a 439. Pierce's Rylee Altwine was the medalist after carding a two-over 74 with Emma Anderson of Oakland-Craig second with an 83.
Holly Patefield posted the low round for LCC with a 95 which was good enough for eighth after a scorecard playo with Alexa Suing of Crofton for seventh.
Harper Bruning came in 11th after carding 99 and Alyza Leonard was one shot out of the medals at 16th with a 104.
Danica Gould came in 25th with a 111 and Kenneday Hall used a 117 to place 29th.
Three Lady Bears played under the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge JV banner led by Stella Kock with a 120, Mavis Jonas fired a 122 and Tanya Miranda posted a 134.
