Lady Devils claim first win under Wieseler

OSMOND - The Wynot Lady Blue Devil volleyball team hit the road for new head coach Tristan Wieseler’s first-ever match and presented the coach with his first career win in relatively easy fashion over the Osmond Lady Tigers.

Wynot swept the match 25-11, 25-11 and 2511 in the best-of-five sets match on Aug. 28.

“We played well for the first game out,” said Wieseler. “We’re looking forward to more games this week.”

Kenna Oligmueller and Jordan Foxhoven led the hit parade for the Lady Blue Devils with 11 and nine kills respectively.

Taylor Pinkelman added three and while Tiara Sudbeck and Mya Pinkelman each had two winners.

Haley Wieseler set the attack in motion with 24 digs on the night and Oligmueller fired five aces to the other side of the net.

Foxhoven added four ace serves, Wieseler three, Jaylin Geisen two and Heimes had one.

Geisen and Foxhoven each had eight digs, Oligmueller added seven.

Coach Wieseler and company were set to take the 1-0 record into a match at home against Boyd County on Sept. 2 before another home date for a triangular with Crofton and Bloomfield on Sept. 4. The Lady Blue Devils travel to Winside on Sept. 9.
