Cardinals will hit the road for season opener

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Cardinal football team will hit the road Friday to open its 2025 season against Chambers Wheeler Central.

CWC may have a different look this year, as it has a new head coach with Drew Kasselder stepping in to lead his high school alma mater.

The Renegades return six starters on both sides of the ball.

CWC’s strength is expected to be in their line, as they return a lot of players in the trenches.

Daniel Kluver, a 6-2, 205-pound three-year starter at guard will anchor a veteran CWC line. Lining up beside him will be Parker Freouf, a 6-0, 245-pound junior.

Senior Mason Knox is the team’s leading returning receiver with nine catches for 145 yards and two TDs, and sophomore Madden McManigal (6-0, 150) will play tight end.

CWC returns a talented dual threat quarterback in junior Michael Jesse (62, 170), who last season passed for 754 yards and 12 TDs and rushed for 474 yards and eight touchdowns.
