“Unintended Consequences” to include works by WSC professors

Posted in:

WAYNE — “Unintended Consequences,” a collaborative art exhibit by two Wayne State College professors, opens Jan. 23, with a 4:30 p.m. reception, in the Nordstrand Visual Arts Gallery in Conn Library.

An Artists’ Talk, featuring Sarah Lemmon, Associate Professor of sculpture, and Meghan O’Connor, Associate Professor of print media, precedes the opening at 3:45 p.m., in Gardner Auditorium. Both events are free and open to the public. The show runs Jan. 23-Feb. 28.

Through individual and collaborative methods, Lemmon and O’Connor explore diverse printmaking and sculptural processes. Unintended Consequences speaks to play, control, and trial-anderror, within studio practice and human behavior. The artists’ inspiration derives from collaboration, relationships, the human condition, and the use of alternative materials. Interactive edible opportunities add a performative component to this exhibit.

The gallery is open Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday 3-7 p.m. Shows end at noon on closing day.
