Posted in:

HARTINGTON — The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats cranked their offense into high gear and rolled to a 52-7 Homecoming win over Niobrara-Verdigre here Friday.

The Cats were clicking on all cylenders, as they were able to score equally well on the ground and through the air.

Several HNS athletes had huge games.

Shaye Morten ran for 177 yards, and threw for 129 more. Kobe Heitman, Sam Harms, and Jake Peitz all had big games, hauling in passes from Morten. Peitz and Harms both snagged catches for touchdowns. Heitman led the team in receiving, grabbing 3-48 yards on the night. Cason Sudbeck and Heitman also found paydirt for the Cats on the night.

“I think having a number of threats will open games up for everyone over the course of the season,” said HNS head coach Corey Uldrich.
