Read moreCovid-19 has once again changed how old traditions have been celebrated and possibly started some new ones. This year, Santa visited with Hartington children in a new, “socially distanced” manner. The weather was a little on the chilly side, but Santa’s extra layers had him well prepared for his successful visit with the children of Hartington. Chesney Peitz (above), left her letter with Santa, as did many other children. The Hartington Chamber sponsored drive-by Santa visits at Hartington’s Felber Park. Parents were encouraged to drive through the park, where Santa and his helper, Lee Carl, accepted letters to Santa, and in return, the children received a “ho, ho, ho,” well wishes for the new year and some candy.
