RANDOLPH — The Cedar Catholic Trojans and Randolph Cardinals will tee it up for the 31st time when they face each other Friday night in gridiron action.
The 7 p.m. game also marks the culmination of Homecoming Week for the Cardinals.
Cedar boasts a 19-11 record over the Cardinals. The Trojans have won nine of the last 11 meetings with the Cardinals. The last time Randolph defeated Cedar was in 2004, when the Cardinals staged a come-from-behind rally to earn the 28-25 win. Randolph’s passing game and Cedar’s missed opportunities on extra points added up to the Cardinal win.
Cedar’s offense is led this season by a solid ground game. Sophomore Chad Koch paces the rushing attack. He has amassed 567 rushing yards so far this season.
The Cedar defense is led by seniors Kyle Dump and Corey Kruse, with 40 and 36 tackles respectively.
Randolph is also led by a solid rushing attack. The Cardinals are led by Nic Thies, who has rushed for 474 yards in four games this season. Thies also leads the Randolph defense from his linebacker spot.
