HARTINGTON — The visiting West Point Central Catholic Blue Jays hung a three-set loss on the Cedar Catholic Lady Trojans in front of a large Parent’s Night crowd.
The Lady Jays swept all three games Thursday, 25-12, 25-11, 25-14 against the Lady Trojans.
The loss drops Cedar to 4-11 on the year and 0-4 in the MidState Conference.
Cedar senior Kyla Hochstein had a team-high six digs, her best mark of the season. The Lady Trojans had a solid game at the net, knocking down 12 kills and shoving back 11 blocks.
For the Lady Trojans, Melanie Leise, Kay Pinkelman and Megan Miller led the squad with four blocks each. Pinkelman contributed four kills, while Ashley Kathol and Hillari Heithold posted two digs each.
Miller tacked on three kills while Hochstein dealt out 10 assists. Heithold chipped in with three kills.
Cedar Catholic plays next Thursday, October 4 at the Madison.

The Battle Creek Bravettes prevailed over the Cedar Catholic Lady Trojans Tuesday by scores of 26-28, 25-19, 25-17, 26-24.
Leading the Lady Trojans defensive effort were Melanie Leise, who finished the match with 16 digs. Hillari Heithold contributed 12 digs in the losing effort.
A highlight for Cedar came in the serving department, as the Lady Trojans crushed six service aces at the Bravettes.
Senior Kay Pinkelman logged 19 blocks to pace the Lady Trojans on the defensive side of the net, while Leise registered eight blocks and Kyla Hochstein notched seven kills.
Pinkelman hit .667 and produced two solo blocks. Pinkelman delivered eight kills, and now has 40 for the year, while Ashley Kathol added two aces. Heithold tacked on five kills, while Megan Miller and Kathol each recorded four blocks.
Pinkelman and Miller came away with nine digs apiece. Kala Sudbeck and Kathol came away with four digs each.
