Father Keiter is returning to Cedar County

Fordyce Centennial celebration is Saturday

FORDYCE — The community of Fordyce will mark its centennial with a big celebration this weekend. The first event of the weekend will begin with a 5k fun run. The Pony Express will start at the Cedar County Courthouse in Hartington at 10 a.m., and head to Fordyce to end the parade in the middle of Main Street about 1p.m.

Vermillion man admits to Fordyce bank robbery

SIOUX CITY, Iowa  —   A long unsolved case is finally being put to rest. Karlis Baisden, 24, Vermillion, S.D., who was awaiting sentencing for a botched bank robbery in Lawton, Iowa, pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to robbing the Cedar Security Bank, Fordyce.
