CROFTON — Patricia “Pat” Suing, 72, Crofton, died April 10, 2024, at Avera Majestic Bluffs Hospice House, Yankton, S.D. Mass of Christian Burial was April 15 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, with Rev. Jim Keiter officiating. Burial was at the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Crofton. Pallbearers were her grandchildren. Visitation was April 14 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, with a rosary and vigil service. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Crofton. Patricia “Pat” Suing was born Aug. 16, 1951, in Yankton, S.D., to Theodore and Cordula (Lange) Bonertz. She grew up in St. Helena, where she attended grade school. She graduated from Wynot High School in 1969, and began working at Mtron, Yankton. She married Bob Suing Aug. 16, 1972, in St. Helena. Pat then worked for Gurney Seed and Nursery, Yankton, in the finance and mail order department. After her first son, Mike, was born, Pat stopped working to focus on raising her family.They raised their children on a small farm near Menominee for 25 years andwere members of St. Boniface Catholic Church. After her last son Bryan was in school, Pat went back to work at Gurney’s for a short time and then took a job with Vishay Dale Electronics. They moved to Crofton in 2001, and after working 27 years at Vishay Dale, Pat retired in 2019.

Pat loved her husband, Robert, deeply. She was grateful for the support of her husband and their children through the many challenges of her illness. She would watch Mass every morning and loved her word finds and the Game Show Network. Everyone enjoyed her cooking and looked forward to family gatherings.

She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic, Church, Ladies Guild, Christian Mothers, and the American Legion Auxillary.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Suing, Crofton; six children, Michael (Jennifer) Suing, Menominee; Jeremy (Jessica) Suing,Lincoln; Gina (Brice) Riley, Norton, Kan.; Richard Suing, Yankton, S. D.; Joshua Suing, Plymouth, Minn.; and Bryan Suing, Yankton, S.D.; nine grandchildren, Zack (Jessica), Lane, Elizabeth, Emily, Levi, Tyler, Alexa, Caleb and Eli; three siblings, Ruth (Loren) Bender, St. Helena; Roger (Mary Jo) Bonertz, St. Helena; and Jane Thelen, Fordyce; eight sisters-in-law, Shirley (Melvin) Heimes, Betty (Myron) Tramp, Ruth (Bob) Moore, Susan (Merle) Tramp, Julie (Owen) Spurrell, Patty (Mark) Konrad, Peggy Livingston and Karen (Dave) Edler; seven brothers-inlaw, Bill (Diane) Suing, Jim (Mary) Suing, Tom (Maggie) Suing, Don (Kathy) Suing, Chuck (Carolyn) Suing, Jerome Kubal and Roger Kubal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law,Doug Thelen. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family and willbe used for Patricia’s requested memorials.
