New officers are installed at FFA Chapter’s y ear-end banquet

HARTINGTON - The Hartington Newcastle FFA Chapter had a lot to celebrate Friday at the annual FFA Banquet.

Families and members attended to celebrate the chapter’s achievements, successes, sponsors, and the retirement of our senior members.

The evening started with opening ceremonies from the officer team, then went straight into eating a delicious meal. After the meal, a slide show of the chapter’s activities was presented and a showing of the retiring seniors.

All members were recognized for the hard work and success they have had this year. Many members were given awards that represented growing aspects throughout the year.

The Leadership award was given to Jason Heimes, Memphis Ulrich, Kora Rneifl, Cole Heimes, Andrew Heimes, and James Pick for outstanding developmentanduseoftheirleadershipskills to set good examples.

Scholarship awards were handed out to strong scholastic students including Colton Cavanaugh, Booker Hochstein, Benjamin Kleinschmit, and Karli Bruning.

Most active awards are given to the top individual from each class who participates the most in all of those activities throughout the year; Senior Tessa Haahr, Junior Ava Noecker, Sophomore Ava Stewart, and Freshman Gabe Reyes.

The Dekalb Award is given to a senior who excels in all areas of agriculture, this year Logan Eickhoff, 23-24 FFA President was the recipient. After all awards were given, the Chapter took time to appreciate all who helped throughout the year, followedbyparent appreciation. Seniors got to give their parents a gift to thank them for all they did to help out over the years.

Logan Eickhoff gave his retiring address as the chapter president. He said the last four years have flown by and what a great organization it was. He summed up his address by giving all members one thing to remember “FFA is a privilege and don’t take anything for granted because it can all be gone in the blink of an eye.”

It was then time for the retiring officers to place the new FFA officer team of: Chaplin Quinn Hochstein, Historian Mckenzie Bruning, Parliamentarian Graham Potts, Sentinel Castin Pinkelman, Reporter Breah Steffen, Treasurer Claire Rolfes, Secretary Ava Stewart, Vice President Ava Noecker and President Cole Heimes.

Once the new officers were inducted, the seniors got to say goodbye. They hung up their blue corduroy jackets for the last time, 14 members from both Cedar Catholic and Hartington-Newcastle will be greatly missed, but they were ready to start off on a new chapter.

Senior members are Karsan Albers, Karli Bruning, Logan Eickhoff, Zoey Gratzfeld, Tessa Haahr, Andrew Heimes, Grayden Hochstein, Matthew Johnson, Paul Kleinschmit, Kale Korth, James Pick, Tavious Pinkelman, Collin Williams, and Emma Wubben.
