WYNOT — Joanne M. Snowe, 73, Wynot, died Dec. 17, 2016, at her residence.
Visitation and a prayer service were Dec. 21 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, and continued one hour prior to services Thursday.
Funeral Services were Dec. 22 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, with the Rev. Chad Beckius officiating.
Burial was at the Wynot Cemetery, Wynot.
Pallbearers were Jim Bevelhymer, Brad Sorenson, Joe Kuchta, Steven Sherman, Brad Boeckman, Ellis Nelson, Odin Hangman and Alan Kuchta.
Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Hangman, Shawn Hangman, Erik Hangman, Aaron Hangman, LaMonte Hangman, David Nelson, Dennis Nelson, Don Sherman, Bob Sherman, Brian Sherman, Brent Sherman and Glenn Heaton.
Joanne Maxine Snowe was born Dec. 30, 1942, at home, on a farm in the Brooky Bottom area east of Wynot, to Fred Perry and Lizzie Mae (Newton) Snowe. Joanne lived with her parents until they died in 1996 and 1997. She then moved in with her sister, Sally Snowe, in Wynot.
Joanne was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Maskell. She enjoyed country music, collecting pens, ice cream, sprite, pizza and having fun. She liked their family vacations to Napa, Calif., to see relatives. She enjoyed her dog Snoopy and going to her cousins family gatherings.
Joanne is survived by two sisters, Sally Snowe, Wynot, and Dolores (Bill) Sorenson, Hartington; honorary sister and caregiver, Betty Vrba, Wynot; two aunts, Agnes (Newton) Hangman, 99, Napa, Calif., and Madeline (Bottolfsen) Newton, 92, Napa, Calif.; two nieces, Bonnie (Terry) Rohan, Ponca, and Lori Koch, Hartington; two nephews Brad (JoEllen) Sorenson, Newcastle, and Jim (Pam) Bevelhymer, Ponca; five great -nieces Melissa (Andy) Millard, Jackson; Kristy (Justin) Wentzel, Ponca; Haley (Duane) Willnerd, Hooper; Sara (Luke) Rohde, Newcastle; and Sheila (Zach) Thompson, Laurel; five great-nephews Eric (Stacey) Bevelhymer, Ponca; Chris (Leanna) Bevelhymer, Ponca; Luke (Rachel) McGill, Pierce; Nathan (Katie) Koch, Hartington; and Mike (Megan) Sorenson, Newcastle; 17 great-great-nieces and nephews; many cousins, friends, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lizzie Snowe; paternal grandparents, Gilbert A. and Kate Snowe; maternal grandparents, Robert and Kate Newton; sister and brother-in-law, Helen K. and William “Bill” Bevelhymer; niece and nephew-in-law, Lanell (Bevelhymer) and Bob Bobier; nephew, Steven F. Bevelhymer.
