Jennifer of Waste Connections presented a bid for the garbage collection service. All residents and businesses using bag collection would receive a 65 gallon tote. Residential rate would be at $13.25 and senior rate would be $9.90. As the village owns the dumpsters, dumpster rate would be $25 per dumpster. Pickup date would remain on Tuesdays. Minimal excess garbage would be allowed. Habitual offenders would be required to take and pay for a second tote. A three year contracted would be needed to guarantee rates for one year. At the end of each year prices would be revisited to accommodate operational cost increases. Key Sanitation’s bid was review. Their bid remained the same as the one presented a year ago. The Village of Wynot’s rate would increase from $800 to $1300. Cory Sudbeck made a motion to terminate the contract with the Village of Wynot as of February 1, 2012 and to accept the bid from Waste Connection to take effect on February 1, 2012, with dumpster rates to be $35 with the extra $10 going to the village to pay for use of dumpsters. Dan Thoene seconded the motion. Motion carried. Rate increases to residents will take place February 1st.
Dan Thoene made a motion to table the approval of the Audit Waiver in lieu of a question concerning fund transfer. Cory Sudbeck seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Cory Sudbeck made a motion to allow Jesse Koch to be the sole signature on the loan transferring the balance from the USDA load to Cedar Security. Dan Thoene seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The abandoned pivot tower on Marvin Schmidt’s property was discussed. Scott Heine will be notified that he will need to removed said tower or the Village will declare it abandoned property , take possession, and have it removed.
Chuck Kramer made a motion to adjourn. Dan Thoene seconded the motion. Motion carried.
