Obituary – Adeline C. Feilmeier

HARTINGTON — Adeline C. Feilmeier, 104, Hartington, died Jan. 5, 2012, at the Golden Living Center, Hartington.
Visitation and a Vigil Service were Jan. 8 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, and continued at the church one hour prior to services.
Mass of Christian Burial was Jan. 9 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Jeffrey Loseke officiating.
Burial was at the St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington.
Pallbearers were Adeline’s grandsons, Dean Heine, Dale Heine, Bob Heine, Bill Trenhaile, Jason Trenhaile and Matt Trenhaile.
Honorary Pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Adeline Christine Feilmeier was born Aug. 28, 1907, in Menominee, to Louis and Matilda (Suing) Sudbeck. She grew up in the Fordyce area. Adeline married John F. Feilmeier Jan. 27, 1943, in Hartington, becoming the step-mother of his 14 children. Adeline and John had two daughters. They farmed east of Hartington. She and John moved into Hartington in 1963. Adeline worked for 15 years in the Holy Trinity School cafeteria. She was proud that she could help John raise his children — keeping them together through the years. She felt this was her calling in life.
Adeline was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Perpetual Adoration, Catholic Daughters of America, Christian Mothers, and the Ministry of Praise. She was also active in the Hartington Senior Citizens Center.
She loved to garden, play cards, quilting and traveling. The joy and love that she has shared with her family through the years is her legacy.
Adeline is survived by two children and their spouses, Ruth Ann Heine, Bow Valley, and Linda and Dale Trenhaile, Yankton, S.D.; step son-in-law, Leonard Jansen, Hartington; 12 step children and spouses, Marcella and Jerome Promes, Wynot; George and Lorraine Feilmeier, Hartington; Leona (Potts) Petersen, Yankton, S.D.; Leonard and Mary Lou Feilmeier, Lakeview, Minn.; Wilhelmina and Herb Boecker, Bloomfield; Jerome and Eleanor Feilmeier, Hartington; Harold and Mary Gay Feilmeier, Hartington; Ann and Jay Walz, Hartington and Arizona; Agnes and Daryl Hochstein, St. Helena; Alice (Klug) Jaeger, Hartington; Charles and Bev Feilmeier, Hartington; Charleen and Dennis Meyer, Syracuse, Mo.; 105 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren through the sixth generation.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son-in-law, Richard Heine; step son, John Jr. and his wife, Rosie; step daughter, Mary Jansen; step sons-in-law, Don Klug, William Jaeger, Jim Potts, and Bob Petersen; four brothers, Hugo, Ignatius, Ted and Leonard Sudbeck; and two sisters, Alma Feilmeier and Rosina Sudbeck.
