HARTINGTON — The Service station on the corner of Broadway and Hwy 84 in Hartington will have a new owner after 32 years.
A portion of Jerry’s Service, Hartington, has been sold to Pomps Tires from Wisconsin. The transaction will take place Sept. 1.
Jerry and Marlene Dendinger, owners of Jerry’s Service, will be relocating a portion of their business to 505 North Cedar and will continue to operate the tank wagon and oil portion of the business.
“The new location is east of Fischer Feeds and Peitz GMC,” Jerry Dendinger said.
“We will run the tank wagon and the bulk oil transports same as usual.”
Two sons of the Dendingers, Kerry and Kurt, have been part of the family-owned business for several years.
One employee will move with the Dendingers to the new location — several other employees will stay on and work for Pomps Tires.
Pomps Tires will continue to offer the same service as Jerry’s Service except for the portion of the business Dendinger will be relocating.
Dendinger purchased the business from Harvey and Dolores Summers in 1980. He has made several improvements and has enlarged the business since the purchase.
