Wynot boys stay perfect on the year

OSMOND — The Wynot boys improved their season mark to 4-0 with a pair of wins last week.
On Friday, the Blue Devils drained seven three-pointers on their way to a 54-25 dominating win over Osmond. Then on Saturday, the Blue Devils continued their winning ways with a 60-40 victory over the Leigh Panthers.

On Friday, Wynot sailed on the hot shooting of Brady Stratman who drained five three-pointers to lead all scorers with 17 points.
Davis Wieseler also knotched double figures with 11 points and six rebounds. Nathan Wieseler had five boards, as well, for the Blue Devils.
Osmond was led by James Stuekrath with nine points.
Osmond got five points from James Stuekrath in the opening quarter, but Wynot countered with five points from Chris Schmidt and pair of short jumpers by Davis Wieseler, pushing the Blue Devils out to an early 13-9 lead.
Brady Stratman had the hot hand for the Blue Devils in the second quarter as he dropped in five long-range bombs and sparked an 18-6 run by Wynot to build a 31-15 halftime advantage.
Nathan Wieseler went to work inside in the third quarter with a trio of baskets in the paint as Wynot rolled, stretching the lead to 49-21.
Scoring slowed in the final quarter but this one had been decided early as Wynot improved their season mark to 3-0 with the 54-25 win.

Leigh —  Wynot earned another big win on Saturday night as they travelled to Leigh and downed the Panthers 60-40.
The Panthers had trouble handling the Devils’ big center Nathan Wieseler as he led all scorers with 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Chris Schmidt also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards, while Davis Wieseler finished with a 10-point effort.
Logan Wendt led the Leigh Panthers with 14 points and Sam Henrick added 10 points to the home team’s scoring totals.
It did not start well for the Panthers as Wynot’s defensive pressure held Leigh to only a single point in the first quarter, Meanwhile, a pair of baskets in close by Nathan Wieseler and a Davis Wieseler three-pointer helped stake Wynot to the 13-1 early lead.
Thomas Urban drained a trey for the Panthers in the second quarter as their offense began to come to life. Davis Wieseler countered that with a three-pointer for the Blue Devils as Wynot increased their lead to 29-12 at the half.
Logan Wendt and Sam Henrick each would hit treys and score five points for Leigh in the third qiuarter but Wynot got four points each from Chris Schmidt and Nathan Wieseler and a Davis Wieseler three pointer as they maintained the 44- 27 advantage.
Second treys by Henrick and Wendt tried to rally the Panthers, but Wynot’s Jackson Sudbeck rained in a pair of long  treys as Wynot fought off the rally to take the big 60-40 win.
Wynot took on Bloomfield Tuesday and will host Wausa Friday.
