Obituary – Steven Olsen

HARTINGTON — Steven J. Olsen, 42, Hartington, died Aug. 23, 2011, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Funeral Services were Aug. 29 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, with the Rev. Katherine Russell officiating.
Burial of his ashes was at Paragon Cemetery, rural Hartington.
Honorary pallbearers were Steven’s co-workers and friends at Dahlin’s Drywall.
Steven John Olsen was born Jan. 30, 1969, in Yankton, S.D., to Franklin LaVaughn and Joan Arlene (Korff) Olsen. He grew up in Hartington and graduated from Hartington High School in 1987. He graduated from Northeast Community College, Norfolk, in 1989.
Steve worked for Dahlin’s Drywall Company in Yankton since 1991. He enjoyed his work for Dahlin’s Drywall as a tradesman, as well as spending time outdoors on the family farm.
He loved his pets and music. Steve also enjoyed his Star Wars and coin collections, and was a loving uncle.
Steven is survived by his mother, Joan Olsen, Hartington; two sisters and their spouses, Suzanne and Brian Lane, Renton, Wash., and Vicky and Todd Lovell, Fairbanks, Alaska; and niece and nephew Kendall and Rane Lovell, Fairbanks, Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his father Franklin Olsen, Sept. 1, 2007.
