HARTINGTON — Cedar Catholic’s wrestling team began its fourth season Thursday when the Trojans hosted Scribner-Snyder here in a dual wrestling meet.
Only six Cedar varsity wrestlers were able to compete in the meet, so Scribner-Snyder earned 36 forfeit points on the night. Scribner-Snyder defeated Cedar 54-21 in the contest.
Cedar picked up points when Kyle Dump earned a 35-second pin over David Meyer in the heavyweight division. Mark Wortmann won a thrilling come-from-behind 11-7 victory in the 160-pound division over Tommy Griffin to earn three team points.

Cedar also picked up points when sophomores Mathew Arens and Nathan Leise earned forfeits.
Joel Uhing, Michael Wuebben, and Nathan Kathol also competed for Cedar in the meet.
Cedar will compete again Saturday when the team travels to Creighton for a tournament.
Cedar has several letter winners returning from last year’s team.
Kyle Dump and Chad Koch lead this year’s squad. Both Dump and Koch medaled in several tournaments last season. Both just missed qualifying for the state tournament last year.
